Making Meetings Work
Planning and Leading Effective Meetings
Regardless of budget or mission, every nonprofit organization has two things in common: a Board of Directors and meetings. The key vehicle through which a Board of Directors strategically leads an organization, meetings are an essential component of Board governance as well as
the hands-on work of committees. Well-run meetings can make the difference between an engaged and effective Board and one that disintegrates into conflict and indecision. The take-away toolkit includes a sample agenda, meeting minute formats, and meeting checklists.
Learn to:
- Manage a successful Board meeting
- Practice basic parliamentary procedure
- Encourage participation from all attendees
- Develop strategies for meeting challenges
- Make meetings fun
